Make a healthy fish dinner to lose weight

How much fish do you eat during a typical week? Did you know that the American Heart Association recommends that you eat fish two times each week?  Many varieties of fish contain important nutrients like lean protein and healthy fats.  And if you replace meals that include higher calorie meats like hamburger or fried chicken with fish-based meals you can also lower your calorie intake to lose weight.

So what’s an easy way to get more fish in your diet?  If buying and preparing fresh fish is too time consuming, purchase canned fish or frozen fish.  In a recent interview with the New York Times,  Barton Seaver, the director of the Healthy and Sustainable Food Program at the Harvard School of Public Health said “contrary to popular thought, frozen fish is “comparable to, if not better than, fresh fish, because it is frozen on ships within hours of being caught.”
