There is no better time to get your ride on than tomorrow, May 18, 2012. Friday is National Bike to Work Day, an event sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists. Bike to Work Day is just one special celebration during National Bike Month, which also included National Bike to School Day.
Get Geared Up for Your Commute
The weather is scheduled to be great on Friday. Prepare for your ride by outlining a route to work and setting aside must-have safety accessories. Be sure you have a bike helmet, some form of ID in case of an emergency, and a cell phone. If you haven’t biked in a while, brush up on your skills with a few pointers from North Memorial experts.
If you wear casual dress at the office you can simply wear your work clothes during the commute. But if business attire is necessary, fold your items into a backpack and wear comfy duds while you pedal.
Biking in the Twin Cities
Minneapolis is consistently rated as one of the best cities in which to bike. Bike to Work Day is the perfect excuse to get out and explore the extensive network of safe trails, bike lanes and parkways in the city. This is one of the rare parts of the country where you can go almost anywhere on two wheels.
Take advantage on Friday and enjoy the ride!
